On 16th July, we began our back-to-touch programme, featuring lots of socially distanced touch-specific fitness drills!
While we still can’t get back to the full game of touch, there’s plenty of things we can do to stay fit and work on our technical skills.
Things we’ve been working on include:
- Ladder drills for footwork
- Sprint training for explosiveness
- HIIT-style station exercises for speed endurance
- Diving technique using sanitised touch balls
The coaches have been busy running up to 10 sessions a week to ensure we follow the right government guidance while giving people an option to return that’s fun and engaging. It’s not been easy, and we’re itching to get back, but this will keep us occupied for a while!
