Centurions train throughout the year with a short break over the Christmas and New Year period and after the end of the Summer League in August. The following information relates to our current training schedule.
We have recently announced a new structure for our Saturday sessions. Training will is organized in the following manner:-
10 – 11am – Touch Basics
The first hour of our Saturday sessions will comprise of ‘touch basics’. This is aimed at completely new players, beginners and those looking to build on or refresh their skills. It will be in the format of a warm up, warm up game and working on techniques such as initiating the touch, three’s and some passing and catching drills.
*Unfortunately we are no longer accepting any further full male memberships as our 2017 league and tournament teams are full. We are however still recruiting female players!
New male members are still welcome to join however please be aware that you will only be eligible to sign up for a basic membership which covers training attendance only. You will not be eligible for the competitive summer league or tournaments.
The team do still run a series of Centurion mini tournaments on Saturdays throughout the summer and take part in the Glasgow Touch Series (friendlies against other local clubs) where all players at the club get the chance to experience some semi competitive action.*
11 – 12:30/1am – Advanced Touch
The second half of our Saturday sessions will be design for more advanced players. This is aimed at players (who have a basic grasp of the rules and basic moves) to learn more advanced plays, develop their decision making and progress their ability. Depending on timings there will be a 30-40 minute game at the end of the session.
Sunday Fitness Session
On the first Sunday of every month we will be running a fitness session. All are welcome to attend regardless of touch experience. Depending on availability and uptake these fitness sessions may become a fortnightly and there may also be additional sessions added – please check our social media and club calendar for updates on this.

All our training sessions take place on the grass pitches at Victoria Park. These are located just inside the main red gated entrance off of Victoria Drive Park North. You cant miss us!
Outdoor training is weather dependent so please check our website, Facebook and Twitter feed for updates. If there is a risk of a session being cancelled due to the weather we aim to have a update posted approximately 45 minutes before the training session is due to take place. At times of extremely poor weather sessions may be cancelled the evening before.
For all new players/members please note that for safety reasons please make sure you bring moulded plastic boots (no metal studs), it can get slippy out there! Any players who are wearing trainers or metal studs will not be allowed to take part.
