2016 Centurions Club Series – Leg 1 Results

Mini Tournament

On Saturday the 19th of March Glasgow Centurions held the 1st leg of the inaugural Club Series mini tournament. It was a great day of back to back touch games in the sunshine at Victoria Park. A total of six 4 vs 4 games were played with Centurions Green, Black, Yellow and Blue all facing off against each other in friendly competitive action. It was a great chance for our players to get some extended game time, show off their skills and get the opportunity to have the experience of playing back to back games. There were certainly a few tired legs by the end of the morning!

All four teams before the action kicked off.

A big thanks goes to Hiran Silva for acting as team photographer for the day and capturing the action shots above, we wish him a speedy recovery from injury.

Centurions Black ran out winners with three wins out of three. Well done to Stuart, Ruth, Dave, Kathleen, John and Brett. Centurions Black are already looking like contenders for the series title with some impressive wins under their belt - they are definitely the ones to beat!  The team enjoyed the chance to reflect on the mornings games at our social at Munro's bar in the evening - unfortunately the Ireland vs Scotland Six Nations result wasn't quite what our Scottish players wanted however our Irish contingent were certainly happy!

With only 4 weeks to go until Leg 2 all four teams are looking forward to facing off against each other again. If you are interested in getting involved and trying out touch then why not pop down to Victoria Park on the 30th of April and watch some of the action in the 2nd leg of the Club Series? New players are always welcome!
